Growing, growing, growing

Root Bottom Farm continues to grow and grow. The fields are full of food and so are our happy stomachs. On our tables this week // tomatoes, potatoes, beets, carrots, onions, basil, blackberries, lettuce, microgreens, scallions, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, garlic, more annual flowers and sunflowers. These are the months we live for.
This is what we had for market this week.
And somehow it all fits in the Subaru to head to market
Mason jars of the week. This is one of my favorites this year.

We couldn't be more excited for the tomatoes!!

Trellising and maintaining the tomato greenhouse
Cucumbers keep on coming.
We picked up a juice bar account in Asheville and our friends are making pickles.
Even on the rainiest of days, sunflowers make you smile.
We are growing 13 varieties this year.

Giant pumpkin update. No big deal. Here I am dreaming of the County Fair.
We had two growing on the same plant and had to pick.
This was the smaller one (!) now on our porch.
Seeing red. German Red Garlic and Red Norland potatoes (also pictured Yukon Gold).

Onions are out of the ground. We just grow a small amount for us and the ESA.
We had a lot of rain this past week and it was nice to find solace in the barn.
We also had unusually cool Summer temperatures that dipped into the 50s.
And...the neighbors cattle broke out and walked all over our property and in the mud.
They seemed to do the most damage to all of the open Fall beds.
Upper Annual Field, the back view.
And upper view.
People always ask us what our "I DROP MAD BEETS" sticker means...so Morgan drew a face on a beet to clarify. Haha. It's a play on words, like a musician would drop a beat to start a song...
For the record, all of our beets are free range, organic and generally pretty happy.
